Job Vacancy: Electrical Technician – Oil & Gas Maintenance

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team in the Oil & Gas sector in Kuwait. Candidates with strong industrial electrical maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown electrical maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and provide effective solutions.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Carry out maintenance work on electrical systems and equipment.
• Follow Permit-to-Work (PTW), LOTO, and electrical safety procedures.
• Support emergency breakdown maintenance and shift operations.
• Ensure all work is completed according to safety and quality standards.

• ITI / Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience.
• Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or refinery maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience working in hazardous areas with Ex-certified electrical equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Valid electrical competency or trade certificate required.

Hands-on experience with:

• LV and MV switchgear.
• Electrical motors and Motor Control Centers (MCC).
• Actuators and MOVs.
• Transformers and bus ducts.
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and soft starters.
• UPS systems, battery chargers, and battery banks.
• Diesel generators and synchronizing systems.
• Lighting and small power systems.
• Electrical protection relays and control circuits.
• Cable termination, glanding, testing, and jointing.
• Insulation resistance, continuity, and hi-pot testing.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Willingness to work shifts and attend emergency breakdowns.
• Good physical fitness and safety awareness.
• Basic English communication and reporting skills.
• Valid Kuwait driving license is an advantage.
• Oil & Gas safety training and PTW certification preferred.
