Urgent Hiring – Generator Technician / Diesel Mechanic
A company in Fahaheel, Kuwait is looking for experienced Generator Technicians / Diesel Mechanics with strong hands-on experience in diesel generators, engines, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
Candidates with a valid Kuwait driving license will be preferred. Applicants must currently be residing in Kuwait and have a transferable Article 18 residency.
Job Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel generators ranging from 30 KVA to 2000 KVA.
- Inspect, service, maintain, and repair diesel-powered equipment and vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control-system faults.
- Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, servicing, and filter replacement.
- Repair and overhaul diesel engines, alternators, radiators, fuel systems, and cooling systems.
- Troubleshoot starting, charging, governor, and voltage-regulation problems.
- Test generator performance under load and ensure stable voltage and frequency.
- Install, commission, and decommission generator sets.
- Maintain battery systems, chargers, control panels, and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) systems.
- Replace defective components such as injectors, fuel pumps, turbochargers, belts, hoses, and sensors.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports.
- Monitor and maintain spare-parts inventory.
- Respond quickly to emergency generator breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workplace safety procedures, and maintenance standards.
- Coordinate with operations teams to schedule preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Maintain clean and organized workshop and project-site areas.
Experience with the following generator and engine brands will be an advantage:
- Perkins
- Cummins
- Caterpillar
- FG Wilson
- Atlas Copco
- Volvo Penta
- MTU
- Other similar diesel generator systems
Candidates should have knowledge of:
- Diesel engines and alternators.
- Generator control systems.
- Engine Control Modules (ECM).
- Diagnostic tools.
- Electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Voltage and frequency regulation.
- Fuel and cooling systems.
- Battery and charging systems.
- ATS and control panels.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong practical experience in generator maintenance and diesel mechanics.
- Experience with diesel generators of different capacities.
- Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure during emergency breakdowns.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance.
- Valid Kuwait Driving License preferred.
- Must be currently residing in Kuwait.
- Valid Article 18 residency with local transfer required.
- Immediate availability is preferred.
