Chemical Engineer job in Kuwait
Location: Kuwait
Role Summary
Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes and equipment for large‑scale industrial operations in oil & gas and process plants. Focus on improving efficiency, ensuring safety, reducing operational risk, and maintaining product quality while supporting projects from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, evaluate, and optimize chemical processes; perform mass and energy balances.
• Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Select and specify equipment: heat exchangers, pumps, reactors, separators, compressors, distillation systems.
• Conduct hazard identification and safety studies (HAZOP/HAZID) and perform risk assessments.
• Implement and enforce safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain quality control procedures and technical documentation.
• Analyze plant performance data to identify reliability and efficiency improvements.
• Troubleshoot operational issues related to process equipment and systems.
• Support project execution from FEED and detailed engineering through commissioning and start‑up.
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and technical deliverables.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of chemical process design, equipment selection, and system optimization.
• Solid understanding of safety standards and regulatory frameworks (OSHA, API, NFPA, ISO).
• Proven experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or large industrial process plant operations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for site travel.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, Petro‑SIM, ChemCAD).
• Familiarity with FEED and EPC project workflows.
• Track record on major industrial projects, plant upgrades, or expansions.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering and continuous improvement methodologies.
Work Environment and Other Notes
• Combination of office engineering and on‑site plant activities.
• Strict PPE and safety compliance required.
• Occasional travel to project sites, clients, and vendor facilities.
