Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead accounting operations for a construction-focused business. The ideal candidate will manage full accounts, supervise the accounting team, and ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and month‑end/year‑end close.
- Manage and mentor senior and junior accountants.
- Monitor project costs and ensure accurate job costing.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
- Control inventory and assets; implement cost control measures.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll oversight.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and local regulations.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors.
- Improve and streamline accounting processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years’ accounting experience, preferably in the construction sector.
- Proven experience managing an accounting team.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and cost control.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of VAT and local regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage full accounts.
- Candidates must be based in Kuwait with a transferable Article 18 visa.
