Job Description
Role Overview
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure that supports the organization’s operations. This includes ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of servers, networks, and storage systems, as well as developing disaster recovery plans to safeguard business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage IT installations, including complex server environments, LAN/WAN networks, VPNs, and applications.
• Design and develop network architecture and computer systems infrastructure.
• Monitor and support infrastructure and network resources, resolving issues and improving performance.
• Evaluate technical aspects of new IT projects to ensure compliance with standards.
• Manage network security and protect end users.
• Provide support for day-to-day IT issues and network troubleshooting.
• Monitor devices such as computers, printers, IP phones, UPS, and IoT equipment.
• Manage servers, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Maintain communication with vendors for IT purchases and services.
• Oversee IT asset maintenance, repairs, and audits.
• Ensure compliance with backup policies and data storage requirements.
• Participate in quarterly IT asset audits and yearly ISO compliance audits.
• Manage the organization’s data center (on-premises and cloud).
Requirements & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Nutanix
• Cisco & Fortinet core switches and wireless controllers
• FortiGate firewalls
• VMware environments
• Windows Server, Domain Controller, Cloud computing, IT security, networking, hardware/software
• Additional knowledge (preferred): Avaya systems, Linux OS, SQL/MySQL databases.
• Familiarity with industry-standard technologies and best practices.
• Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Valid Kuwait driving license (mandatory).
