Job Vacancy: Lifting Engineer – Abu Halifa, Kuwait

A company in Kuwait is urgently looking for an experienced Lifting Engineer with strong expertise in heavy lifting operations, mobile cranes, crawler cranes, lifting plans, and crane safety management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe planning, execution, inspection, and supervision of lifting activities across project sites.

• Manage the overall safety of lifting operations involving mobile and crawler cranes.
• Review and approve lifting method statements and lifting calculations.
• Review lifting plans to ensure they are technically sound and compliant with project requirements.
• Interpret crane load charts and verify lifting capacities.
• Verify third-party certificates for cranes, lifting accessories, and related equipment.
• Administer lifting work permits and ensure required documentation is complete.
• Verify crane operator, rigger, and signal-person certifications.
• Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for lifting activities.
• Witness and monitor high-risk lifting operations at project sites.
• Coordinate with third-party lifting inspectors and project consultants.
• Address and resolve lifting-related non-conformities.
• Conduct lifting safety training and toolbox sessions when required.
• Maintain accurate lifting equipment registers and inspection records.
• Ensure lifting equipment is inspected and maintained according to applicable requirements.
• Investigate lifting-related accidents, incidents, and near-miss events.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions following lifting incidents.
• Coordinate with site, engineering, safety, and project teams to ensure safe lifting operations.
• Ensure lifting activities comply with project procedures and applicable GCC requirements.

• Minimum 10 years of heavy-lifting management experience.
• Proven experience working with mobile cranes and crawler cranes.
• Strong knowledge of heavy lifting operations and crane safety.
• Experience reviewing lifting plans and crane load charts.
• Kuwait or GCC project experience is preferred.
• LEEA Appointed Person, NPORS Lifting Supervisor, or GCC-accepted equivalent qualification required/preferred.
• Strong understanding of lifting method statements and lifting calculations.
• Knowledge of lifting permits, inspections, certifications, and safety documentation.
• Familiarity with GCC lifting requirements and consultant submission procedures.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage high-risk lifting activities professionally.
• Valid passport and eligibility for a Kuwait work/residence visa.
• Previous experience working with Chinese companies will be an advantage.
