Job Vacancy: QA/QC Mechanical Engineer – Oil & Gas

A leading company in Ahmadi, Kuwait is looking for a qualified and experienced QA/QC Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming construction projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in quality assurance and quality control for piping, pipelines, storage tanks, and structural steel construction, preferably within Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial projects.

• Implement and maintain project Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Review and monitor compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and project specifications.
• Conduct inspections for piping, pipeline, storage tank, and structural steel construction activities.
• Perform and verify material receiving inspections.
• Maintain accurate material traceability records.
• Coordinate and witness fit-up, welding, NDT, hydrotesting, painting, and mechanical completion activities.
• Ensure construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, punch lists, and turnover dossiers.
• Coordinate inspections with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and project teams.
• Monitor and verify corrective actions related to Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Review quality records and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.
• Support project handover, mechanical completion, and final documentation activities.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Industrial Construction Projects.
• Strong practical experience in:
  • Piping Construction & Inspection
  • Cross-Country & Process Pipelines
  • Storage Tank Construction
  • Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection
• Experience with welding inspections, NDT coordination, hydrotesting, material inspection, and quality documentation.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality records.
• Proficiency in MS Office and QA/QC documentation systems.
• Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards.

Candidates should have sound knowledge of:

• ASME B31.3
• ASME B31.4
• ASME B31.8
• ASME Section IX
• API 650 / API 653
• AWS D1.1
• Relevant ASTM Standards

• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI certification preferred.
• ASNT Level II certifications preferred.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification preferred.
• Previous experience with KNPC, KOC, PIC, or other major Oil & Gas clients in Kuwait is an added advantage.
