Role Summary
The Senior Accountant with cost accounting responsibilities will monitor, analyze, and control costs across manufacturing, maintenance, service projects, and spare parts sales. The role prepares financial and cost reports, reconciles accounts, manages cost allocation, supports cash flow forecasting for new projects, contributes to budgeting, and ensures compliance with financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting and Financial Analysis
- Prepare job and project cost sheets for fabrication, installation, maintenance, and service works.
- Monitor actual vs budgeted costs and perform variance analysis.
- Identify cost overruns and recommend cost‑saving measures.
- Maintain job‑wise costing and prepare cost reports for ongoing and completed jobs.
Material and Inventory Cost Control
- Track raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and tools.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores for accurate material costing.
- Verify material issues, returns, and wastage.
- Conduct inventory valuation and stock audits.
Labor and Overhead Costing
- Calculate direct labor costs including man‑hours, overtime, and productivity.
- Allocate factory overheads such as power, depreciation, maintenance, and utilities.
- Analyze machine hour rates and production efficiency.
Supporting Cash Flow Management and Financial Planning
- Support cash flow forecasting for new projects and assist in working capital planning.
- Provide cost inputs for project cash flow models and funding requirements.
Accounts Payable and Supplier Reconciliation
- Manage supplier invoices and reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate supplier payments and resolve discrepancies.
Budgeting, Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare monthly cost reports, MIS, and variance analysis.
- Assist in budgeting and periodic financial reviews.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
Required Qualifications Skills and Competencies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in cost accounting, financial analysis, or related roles.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing, maintenance, and project‑based cost accounting.
- Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems, financial modeling, and cost analysis tools.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Communication: Clear reporting and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
