Safety Officer – K Company Project
Job Description
A leading company is looking for an experienced Safety Officer to join a prestigious K Company Project in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices with experience in Oil & Gas, industrial, or construction projects.
This role is suitable for safety professionals who are passionate about creating safe workplaces, improving HSE performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Job Responsibilities- Ensure implementation of company HSE policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and HSE audits to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with KOC HSSE procedures and safety standards.
- Identify unsafe practices and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness training for employees.
- Communicate safety procedures and guidelines to site teams.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
- Assist project teams in preparing:
- Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Task Risk Assessments
- Monthly HSE Reports
- Fall Protection Plans
- Other safety documentation
- Conduct emergency drills and ensure site emergency preparedness.
- Maintain HSE records, statistics, and reports for continuous improvement.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example.
- Support ergonomic assessments and manual handling risk evaluations.
- Identify workplace hazards related to ergonomics and recommend preventive measures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an HSE/Safety professional in Oil & Gas, industrial, construction, or related projects.
- Professional HSE certifications are preferred, such as:
- NEBOSH International General Certificate
- ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
- Industrial Safety Certification
- Construction Safety Certification
- Valid First Aid certification as per KOC requirements.
- Knowledge of occupational health, safety procedures, and risk assessment practices.
- Training in ergonomics and manual handling safety is preferred.
- Valid Kuwaiti Driving License is mandatory.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
