Job Vacancy: Transformer Design Engineer

A reputed company in Kuwait is looking for an experienced Transformer Design Engineer with strong technical expertise in the design and development of oil-filled power transformers and dry-type/cast-resin distribution transformers.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in transformer design calculations, technical drawings, tender documentation, BOQ preparation, and engineering software.

• Design and develop oil-filled power transformers according to project and customer requirements.
• Work on the design of dry-type and cast-resin distribution transformers.
• Perform transformer load calculations and design calculations.
• Prepare and review technical and customer drawings.
• Review tender drawings and ensure design requirements are properly addressed.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and transformer weight calculations.
• Prepare and check customer drawings and layouts based on electrical design requirements.
• Develop accurate transformer layouts and engineering drawings.
• Review design specifications and technical requirements before finalizing drawings.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and other technical teams when required.
• Ensure transformer designs comply with applicable project and manufacturing requirements.
• Support technical clarifications and design modifications during the manufacturing process.

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of relevant transformer design experience.
• Strong experience with oil-filled power transformers.
• Experience with dry-type/cast-resin distribution transformers.
• Good understanding of transformer design calculations and engineering principles.
• Experience reviewing tender and customer drawings.
• Ability to prepare BOQs and transformer weight calculations.
• Knowledge of pressure and vacuum stress analysis.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledge of transformer design software is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with technical teams.
