Cost Estimation Engineer Job in Kuwait
Role Summary
A reputable engineering firm in Kuwait is seeking an experienced Cost Estimation Engineer to independently manage cost estimation, budgeting, and tender preparation for engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of local market rates, suppliers, and procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for projects.
• Develop budgets, quotations, and tender documents from scope and drawings.
• Perform rate analysis and maintain up‑to‑date local market rate databases.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
• Review technical specifications and drawings to ensure accurate quantity takeoffs.
• Conduct cost comparisons, value engineering, and risk assessments.
• Support bid submission and respond to technical/ commercial queries during tendering.
• Maintain estimation trackers, cost libraries, and historical cost records.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Kuwait in cost estimation for engineering, construction, or trading projects.
• Proven experience preparing BOQs, budgets, and tender documents independently.
• Strong knowledge of local market rates and supplier networks in Kuwait.
• Excellent quantity takeoff and rate build‑up skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel; familiarity with estimation software is an advantage.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.
• Preferred nationality: Indian candidates preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and meet tight tender deadlines.
Personal Attributes
• Analytical, organized, and deadline‑driven.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel to suppliers, sites, and client locations as required.
