Role Summary
Experienced Operations Manager to oversee the full operational lifecycle from post‑award execution through final delivery and client acceptance for oil & gas supply chain and trading operations. The role is accountable for procurement execution, supplier performance, logistics and shipment management, port clearance, warehouse control, service coordination, and margin protection.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑end operations: Manage post‑award execution, delivery schedules, and client acceptance processes.
- Procurement execution: Oversee purchase order release, supplier follow‑up, expediting, and quality acceptance.
- Supplier performance: Monitor supplier production, lead times, and compliance; manage vendor scorecards and corrective actions.
- Logistics and shipments: Coordinate international and local logistics, shipping documentation, and carrier selection to prevent delays.
- Port clearance and demurrage control: Ensure timely customs and port clearance; implement measures to minimize demurrage and detention costs.
- Warehouse and inventory control: Supervise warehousing, stock reconciliation, material handling, and inventory accuracy.
- Service coordination: Manage third‑party services and subcontractors where applicable; ensure SLA adherence.
- Cost and margin protection: Track costs, identify savings opportunities, and protect project margins through commercial controls.
- Risk management: Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans; escalate critical issues to senior management.
- Reporting and KPIs: Prepare operational dashboards and reports (on‑time delivery, inventory turns, demurrage, supplier performance).
- Stakeholder management: Coordinate with commercial, project, QA/QC, finance, and client teams to ensure alignment.
Requirements
- Experience: 8–15 years in oil & gas supply chain, trading operations, or project logistics in Kuwait.
- Industry knowledge: Strong understanding of oil & gas materials, import/export procedures, port operations, and local regulations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Technical skills: Proficient with ERP/procurement systems, MS Excel, and logistics tracking tools.
- Commercial acumen: Proven experience in contract terms, incoterms, freight negotiation, and cost control.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage external vendors.
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Arabic is an advantage.
- Eligibility: Candidates with local Kuwait experience and ability to join immediately preferred.
- Attributes: Detail oriented, decisive, results driven, and able to work under pressure.
