Role Summary
Experienced Procurement Engineer required to manage end‑to‑end procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services in oil and gas projects. The role focuses on supplier identification and evaluation, contract negotiation, cost control, timely delivery, and driving savings while ensuring quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute procurement activities for materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
- Identify and prequalify suppliers, evaluate capabilities, and maintain approved vendor lists.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial terms including price, delivery, payment, and warranty.
- Prepare purchase orders and contracts and follow up to ensure on‑time delivery.
- Coordinate with engineering, project, and QA teams to confirm specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Manage logistics and material tracking to support project schedules.
- Implement cost saving initiatives and report procurement KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, local regulations, and client requirements.
- Resolve supplier performance issues and manage claims or nonconformance reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree: Engineering degree required.
- Experience: Proven local oil and gas procurement experience; typically 3–7 years in procurement for oil, gas, or related heavy industries.
- Technical knowledge: Familiarity with technical specifications, material codes, and vendor data for oil and gas equipment.
- Commercial skills: Strong negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis skills.
- Systems: Proficient with procurement systems and MS Office; experience with ERP or eProcurement tools is an advantage.
- Soft skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem solving.
- Availability: Candidates currently in Kuwait or able to relocate immediately preferred.
